When it comes to making decisions and governing collaboratively through digital infrastructures, Decidim is a model to follow. It is a democratic community that manages the project in all its aspects.

Therefore, it felt important for Decidim to consolidate its visual identity with something fresh, hopeful, and joyful that would become a visual evolution. In response to this change, it has been important to visually represent the perspective and values of the project. This evolution has aimed to provide a solid foundation for more effective communication across different platforms.

For the development, we have worked through a collaborative process to determine the three key visual terms:

• Re-imagine
• Collective action
• Connect

To represent these terms, the color palette has been expanded to generate contrasts and dynamism. I added shapes and textures to provide a touch of complexity, diversity, and connection, as participation tends to be as chaotic as it is interesting. To highlight collective action, I decided to use black and white images, which adds another layer of contrast with the colors used.

With the defined visual strategy, the metadecidim platform also underwent an update in its images. You can check out the project here.
